2018-2019 Color Trend
Translucent
Oxford Dictionaries declared “post-truth” as their international word of the year.
We performed the analysis in late 2017, when a story of kindergarten child abuse made national news in China. Circumstances made us reflect on what “post-truth” entails: in such incidents, what concerns people is not the final result of the investigation, but whether our community can resolve its own problems with justice.
Against this background, there is a rising need for transparency. For this theme, we have chosen colors and textures that appear transparent and restorative, such as Vibrant Blue, Misty Green, and Mango Yellow, as well as translucent light-diffusing materials.
